A gay jewish man who was na early figure in the gay liberationist movement and researched medical care for transgender people

He cofounded the worlds first gay right's organization, the Scientific-Humanitarian Committee (SHC)

He founded the Institute of Sexual Science, which offered medical care, professional training, research opportunities, and public sex education

The institute was targeted in the Nazi book burnings, which is why most of his data is lost

He was born in 1868

He died in 1935
